Poetry Night

Poetry has an amazing power to unite and is a beautiful method of expression. And what better way to experience it than in community? That’s the vision behind poetry night. Good people coming together to read good poems and having a good time doing it.

Simply, the night will be a free night of self-expression where anyone can bring any poetry they’ve written or any poetry they enjoy and share it with friends in a welcoming space. The hope is for these nights to feel freeing, to build bridges, and ultimately, to be fun!

Now, you may be thinking, “What if I don’t write poetry?”, “What if I don’t want to read anything?”, “I don’t even read poetry”, or “That just sounds extremely uncomfortable”. Come anyways! There is no expectation that everyone bring something which revolutionizes poetry. Your contributions are valuable and we would love for you to share. Or, even just come be present and listen! There is no pressure to share anything if you don’t want to. The space is as free to simply listen in as it is to come share in.

So, logistics.

  • When:
    • Friday, March 15th
    • 8 PM-late
  • Where:
    • TBD
  • Do I need to sign up?
    • If you would like to come, please RSVP here
      • This is so we can get a rough headcount BUT if you don’t RSVP, that is totally OK and you are still more than welcome to come.
  • What should I bring?
    • Nothing but open ears and an open mind!
    • There will be snacks and drinks provided.
